Two federal programs every tech runs into
Section 608: EPA rules in 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F require technicians who maintain, service, repair or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants to be certified (EPA: 608 certification requirements). Technology Transitions: under the AIM Act, EPA limits the use of high-GWP HFCs by sector, including refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps (EPA: Technology Transitions, rules in 40 CFR 84.54).
